Job description

The Program Management Office (PMO) at Zoox is responsible for driving cross-functional program planning and execution at the highest level. We partner with leaders from across the company in vehicle development, system design, software engineering, manufacturing, fleet operations, and business functions to develop and deliver major corporate milestones on the path to launch, scale, and beyond.

If you like to work in a fast-paced, high-impact team that communicates and collaborates closely with the broader Zoox organization, and you have fun in doing so, we would like to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
  • Build the strategic roadmap for the internal test fleet, including gates, checkpoints and milestones to lead the development and maturity of the vehicle, sensors, compute and software, to enable the larger customer milestones for Robotaxis.
  • Lead the launch and operational execution of upcoming milestones using the internal test fleet of vehicles across all markets that Zoox operates in. These milestones are the enabler for upcoming external-facing milestones on the Robotaxis.
  • Partner with engineering managers and leaders in the Fleet Operations, Fleet Orchestration, Data Science, User Research, Autonomy, & other teams to translate stakeholder needs & top-down corporate strategy into detailed technology & operational roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Partner with the Fleet Operations team to ensure operational execution and excellence of the program. Identify, and work cross-functionally to resolve blockers that would prevent the early integration testing on the test fleet.
  • Architect feedback loops for scale: Design and manage systems to capture high-fidelity insights from ZIP riders. You will establish the bridge between operations and engineering, translating rider feedback into actionable improvements, so we can find and fix service issues before they reach paying customers.
  • Establish standard reports to provide concise and effective communications to key engineering and executive stakeholders on program status, issues/risks, and accomplishments.
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent engineering experience in lieu of an engineering degree
  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering or program management with a focus on product launches and/or validation and testing
  • Proven track record of managing complex cross-functional projects
  • Experience with automotive or aerospace processes, OR have experience with test platforms, simulation, autonomous vehicles, OR verification & validation (V&V) disciplines
  • Proficient in tools or processes required to manage complex projects (i.e., Jira, Gantt charts, risk matrix, Smartsheet, etc.)
Ability to concisely and effectively communicate at the senior executive level of the organization
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, test platforms, simulation, and/or automotive or aerospace processes is highly desired
  • Experience with developing and scaling strategies, processes, plans, procedures, reporting, and handling escalations
  • Project Manager Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent
$186,000 - $257,000 a year
