Allure of Zion | Full-Time | Leadership Position

Join the Leadership Team at Allure of Zion

location:  3615 16th St. Zion, IL 60099

Allure of Zion is a skilled nursing community dedicated to delivering high-quality, resident-centered care while fostering a supportive and collaborative workplace for our team.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. This is an excellent opportunity for a nursing leader who values structure, accountability, teamwork, and long-term clinical improvement rather than constant crisis management.

If you are passionate about leadership, quality care, and building strong nursing teams, we invite you to apply.

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and management of the nursing department. The DON works closely with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to ensure regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and a positive nursing culture.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Regulatory Leadership

  • Lead and oversee all nursing services in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • Maintain survey readiness and participate in state and federal survey processes

  • Ensure policies and procedures support high-quality resident care

Staffing & Department Operations

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs across all shifts

  • Oversee nursing schedules, assignments, and delegation of responsibilities

  • Promote staff accountability and strong team communication

Clinical Oversight

  • Monitor nursing documentation for accuracy and compliance

  • Ensure safe medication administration and treatment practices

  • Address clinical concerns and implement quality improvement initiatives

Care Planning & Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the MDS and Care Plan team to ensure timely and accurate assessments

  • Promote resident and family involvement in care planning

  • Partner with department leaders to support overall resident outcomes

Education & Staff Development

  • Support staff education, training, and competency development

  • Lead in-services and mentoring opportunities

  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork

Qualifications

Required

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience

  • Current CPR certification

  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred

  • Previous Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing experience

  • Experience with QAPI initiatives and survey recovery

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed

  • Ability to assist in emergency situations if required

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Comprehensive benefits package

  • Supportive leadership and stable ownership

  • Collaborative clinical environment

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents and staff

If you are a dedicated nursing leader committed to exceptional care, we encourage you to apply and become part of the Allure team.
