Job description

Zildjian is looking for a talented maintenance technician to join our team in Newport, Maine


The person in this position will work with individuals across multiple production departments that use a wide variety of equipment to produce the world's best drumsticks. Success in this position requires excellent problem-solving and a strong aptitude for learning new skills and systems. This position is key in maintaining an efficient operation. This will be a second shift position.


Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain simple to complex production equipment, support equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
  • Manage and prioritize variable workload
  • Complete all assigned and corrective work orders in the CMMS program (Tractian)
  • Work safely around electrical systems 24V-480V by using a multi meter
  • Operate and troubleshoot centrifugal and diaphragm pumps
  • Support and maintain our process water system to include dosing chemicals, daily and weekly cleaning.
  • Maintain the fuel handing area
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Competently read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
  • Able to safely work at heights
  • Able to work in confined spaces and follow entry procedures
  • Able to climb ladders routinely
  • Proficient with computers and Familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company established safety policies.
  • Valid Maine Driver's License and a reliable form of transportation.
  • High School Diploma

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Can operate fork truck, aerial lifts and yard equipment
  • 2-year Technical degree or 5 years of experience in a technical role or equivalent
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting

Pay Range: $23.69 - $29.87 per hour
