Job description

Provides support to the operation manager. Assist in coordinating training and developing the warehouse coordinators in all aspects relating to operation requirements as described by the customer. Coordinates all records provided by drayage carriers.  Prepares required reports and communicates data to customers and various departments.  Plans and informs dock management of dock activities.  Position supports internal and external vendors, customers and operations.


  • Develops and analyzes data and service specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of service
  • Promotes and organizes training activities related to service quality and reliability. Responds to customer inquiries.
  • Develops and updates daily performance shift goals to dock supervisors. Analyzes labor required to complete projected workload. Follows up on operational shortfalls.
  • Coordinates and monitors arrival of priority containers with dock supervisors regarding priority containers such as airfreight and special projects.
  • Responsible for establishing daily drayage forecast, vessel assignments, and coordinating with drayage partners, port authorities, terminal operators and customers to ensure daily/weekly goals are achieved.
  • Maintains contact with carriers to collect data about daily performance.
  • Analyzes and cross-references reports while coordinating with customer service and other staff to ensure movements of customer goods are properly performed.
  • Prepares multiple monthly summary reports for facility and company leadership.
  • Participates in weekly production calls with customers and daily production statuses with facility leadership to review current and upcoming operational needs.
  • Examines work for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Investigates errors and addresses customer complaints regarding quality with the operation manager
  • May process U.S. Customs documentation such as 3461, PTT, 3499, 300 forms, MDR, warehouse entries, etc.
  • Manages freight claims; research on damages, shortages., provides feedback to operation and customers
  • Mitigate claims, process credit memos, provides documentation to support claims mitigation
  • Provides claims / damages / shortage reports and measurements to operation manager
  • OS&D analysis conducted, provides freight integrity training
  • Special project analysis – project quote estimates
  • Provides special project progress to customer and operation manager
  • Other job requirements could include receipt and allocation of freight, process loadslips, coordinate production with staff
  • Maintains access to all systems reports for research and customer compliance maintenance
  • Duties and responsibilities are subject to change as directed by management

  • High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, terminal operations or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experienced user with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of local harbor procedures and drayage carrier procedures required.
