Job description

About Owner
Owner is the AI-native system local business owners use to succeed, starting with restaurants.
We're building the system that replaces the many tools owners use to run their business.
It powers everything from the restaurant's website, online ordering, CRM, POS, and more.
Product philosophy
Most small business software makes owners do the work to get what they want: sales growth and profit growth. Owner does the work for them agentically.
Our system drives demand, converts it, and helps operators run their business day to day. As it improves, the business improves with it.
Using Owner should feel like having a team of great operators, engineers, and marketers working for you.
Our vision
We're starting by helping independent restaurants succeed online.
But it's not just restaurants that need our help. Most local businesses are struggling with these same problems. Huge technology corporations are taking their customers, bleeding their profits, and making it hard for them to survive.
Once we nail the solution for restaurants - we'll scale it into every other local business type.
In the future we envision, tens of millions of local business owners will use our technology to succeed in the digital age.

Our traction
Since 2020, we've generated tens of millions in revenue and processed over a billion dollars of online orders. 1 in 5 Americans have used an Owner.com website.
More importantly, we've helped over 20,000 restaurant owners, and saved them nearly $200 million in fees.
Our team
Our team is now in the low hundreds. We've got top talent from the most successful companies in SMB software, including: Shopify, HubSpot, DoorDash, ServiceTitan, Rappi, Faire and Stripe.
We'll be scaling even faster in 2026 to keep pace with our customer growth.
Where we work
Owner is a remote-first, global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. For a few of our roles we prioritize in-person collaboration at one of our office locations. Most of our teammates are distributed throughout the globe. Please review the role description and discuss with your recruiter for more details on location!
Why we're looking for you
Media has been an unfair advantage for Owner as we've scaled to over a billion dollar valuation. Our YouTube and Instagram channels are category leaders. We've become the #1 voice in restaurant growth, and our channels regularly get over 3 million organic impressions per month. YouTube is one of our most powerful platforms for reaching both customers and future talent. Restaurant owners that enter our funnel who have spent hours of watch time with our deepest and most information rich content (our long form videos) convert at multiples higher than any other channel.
On the talent side, Adam is restarting his startups focused content this year to educate entrepreneurs and aspiring builders with unfiltered advice about company building and scaling.
As we build a dedicated Media team, we need someone to own our long-form YouTube channels end to end from ideation and packaging to production, post-production, and performance analysis.
This is a fit for you if you're a multifaceted creative fluent in ideation, production planning, on-set directing, copywriting, post-production oversight, and YouTube analytics.
Your curiosity for business fundamentals matches your passion for dominating YouTube's educational landscape. You are excited about creating videos so compelling that others rush to imitate (You want to create and be the outlier, not just copy them)
You'll be in charge of building a YouTube team of editors, strategists, directing channel strategy, brand identity, and content production as we shape Owner into a generational brand.
This role is based in San Francisco, California.
The impact you'll have
  • Define channel strategy and formats as we chart towards 100k subscribers for Owner and Adam Guild's startup brand channels
  • Manage editors, thumbnail designers, videographers, and pre-production workflows for Owner's YouTube channel
  • Lead A/B testing for packaging across our back catalogue
  • Maintain and present YouTube scorecard metrics (retention, view velocity, subscriber growth) to leadership
  • Continuously research and test new YouTube features, algorithm shifts, and competitive strategies
  • Draft run-of-show documents, prompting follow-up questions, pacing segments, and capturing live notes for editors to shorten post-production time
  • Conduct regular retention reviews to improve audience engagement
  • Manage post production and frame reviews with our editors and editing vendors and approve all final uploads
  • Manage the YouTube upload calendar and coordinate with marketing, shorts teams, and external stakeholders for distribution and promotion

Who you'll work with
  • Report directly to the VP of Media and Chief of Staff to the CEO
  • Partner closely with the Director of Production and Sr Manager of Media Operations on production planning, resource management, and cross-channel coordination
  • Collaborate with internal editors, thumbnail designers, and videographers
  • Work with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Sales, and Product on relevant YouTube content for enablement and customer conversion

What we're looking for
  • Deep understanding of the YouTube landscape: ideation, formats, thumbnails, titles, and retention editing
  • 3+ years of experience in YouTube channel management or development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into engaging content
  • Strong analytical instincts and ability to work with data to drive content decisions
  • Experience managing creative teams and production workflows
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools
  • Knowledge of editing software and Photoshop considered an asset but not required
  • Enthusiasm to build AI-driven tools, automation, and new media workflows

Compensation and benefits
  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $160K-$170K, plus a generous pre-IPO equity package
  • Other benefits include comprehensive health coverage, unlimited PTO - plus extra fun perks!
