At Urban Mental Health Counseling Services, we are dedicated to fostering mental wellness and providing compassionate support to individuals in our community. Our team is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where clients can thrive and staff can grow, while happily providing services/doing the profession they love. We are currently seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team to provide emotional and therapeutic support to clients in either individual or group settings .
Position Overview:
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will provide individual and group counseling services to clients facing a range of mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans and support clients in their journey toward improved mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations in line with the APA /DSM 5 TR to understand clients mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based counseling and therapeutic interventions.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists.
- Stay current with best practices in mental health counseling and attend professional development opportunities.
- Provide support to counseling interns and young professional working towards valid/state licensure.
- Facilitate supportive referral to clients/individuals, and collaborate with other service organization in the community for the benefit of the client/population we serve.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid state licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) [non licensed or license eligible professionals, apply for our mental counselor/social worker position to benefit from appropriate support/career development].
- Experience in individual and group counseling preferred.
- Understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and culturally competent approach to counseling.
