Job Summary 

The Yoga Instructor is responsible for designing and implementing a group yoga class and performing a mild to moderate session that leads students through exercises that help improve strength, flexibility, and balance. Must assist all guests with proper techniques and mind-body yoga connection. Experience with Hatha or Vinyasa yoga is preferred, as well as a focus on Meditation. Provides motivation to guests to ensure that they achieve their personal wellness goals. The Yoga Instructor will also ensure wellness area lighting and music levels are correctly set and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and abide by Trilogy and Well & Being Spa policy and procedures.
  • Greets patrons immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.
  • Listens and addresses guest’s requests and responds with appropriate action and provides accurate information.
  • Communicates guest complaints, concerns and requests to Spa Management. 
  • Provides tour of fitness areas and facilities, if needed. 
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of all group fitness classes and programs. 
  • Maintain safety and sanitation and disinfection standards.
  • Properly clean and sanitize products, rooms, tools and equipment, following Trilogy and State Governing Boards requirements and guidelines.
  • Follow service rules and regulations under their license in the State.
  • Use all PPE and sanitation standards by Trilogy and the State Governing Body.
  • Maintains fitness area cleanliness, practices a “clean as you go” approach to the work areas. 
  • Ensures all equipment (including hand held equipment) are in good working order and functioning properly. 
  • Ensures fitness area lighting and music levels are correctly set and maintained. 
  • Ensures all guests practice safety during exercise sessions. 
  • Ensures guests safety in wet areas by removing standing water and reporting unsafe equipment.
  • Oversees Forbes standards for fitness center.
  • Handles emergency situations with urgency and discretion.
  • Observes all departmental safety procedures and protocols.
  • Provides customer service to guests, including information about hotel services, activities, and directing guests to other areas of the hotel. 

Qualifications

  • Registered Yoga Teacher 200 or 500 through Yoga Alliance or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of continuous Yoga teaching experience, preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED Certification.
  • Ideally, familiar with the Puerto Rico market, have a following, and be proficient at utilizing social media to market themselves and their classes.
  • Ensure that all guests practice safety during Yoga sessions.
  • Must be polished, professional, and have a strong command of both written and verbal English and Spanish.
