Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Pool & Sauna Haus Manager, this position is responsible for leading recreational activities while ensuring the safe, efficient, and guest-focused operation of the Pool & Sauna Haus. This role combines activity leadership, guest engagement, and facility attendant responsibilities, delivering an engaging and safe environment for all guests.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plans, organizes, and leads recreational activities, classes, and events for all age groups.
  • Assists in developing new programs and themed events.
  • Lead group activities such as fitness classes, games, and poolside programming.
  • Promotes activities and communicates upcoming events to guests.
  • Monitors and facilitates scheduled activities to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Registers guests at the facility, collects payments, and ensures proper waivers are signed.
  • Monitors pool area users, maintaining order and safety; enforces policies, rules and regulations.
  • Enforces policies, rules and safety regulations.
  • Assists with facility events and supports operations as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool, activity spaces and equipment.
  • Provides exception guest service and responds to questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Follows proper emergency procedures when needed; administers first aid, as needed.
  • Reports employee or guest injuries to the Manager on duty and completes incident reports as directed.
  • Is familiar with all unit services/features and local attractions/activities to accurately respond to guests' questions.
  • Assists in training and supervising facility staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILL & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
  • Experience leading group activities, fitness classes, or recreational programming.
  • Passionate about guest service and the hospitality/recreation industry.
  • Ability to communicate and attend to guests with the highest standard of service.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to learn and operate point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Ability to pass cash handling training.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification, preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching Yoga, Aerobics, or group fitness classes, required.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply first aid techniques or ability to learn.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Problem sensitivity and the ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the facility. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to safely negotiate slippery/uneven walking surfaces.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently and up to 250+ lbs. with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to frequently stand; walk; sit; stoop; kneel; or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Withstanding temperature and humidity extremes in indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand and hear the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
