Job Summary
Reporting to Campus Rec Director, this position will assist with the overall development, promotion, supervision, implementation, and evaluation of campus recreation.
Responsibilities
Significant Duties and Responsibilities include: Program Area Duties (45%) - Create schedule for group fitness classes. Create a sustainable personal training program. Maintain inventory for fitness equipment for classes and on the fitness floor. Maintain and obtain certifications and follow trends in fitness. Create a maintenance replacement plan for cardio equipment and small weight room equipment. Develop relationships with vendors to enhance the quality and services offered in Fitness. Trouble shoot basic items but all major malfunctions will be submitted using equest to inform plant operation fitness needs. Host National Trainings such as Yoga Fit Training, and or Spinning Training. Host Special events such as, yoga with the president, glow yoga, and Cycle and a Movie etc. Create a learn to teach program for potential student instructors.; Administrative (20%) - Teach 1 or 2 group fitness classes a week and Train 1-2 clients. Submit items for purchase staying within the allocated department budget. Create surveys, analyze data, conduct evaluations and write reports. Assist in minimizing risk and enforcing risk management protocols. Assist with All Campus Recreation Student Staff Training in Fall and Spring. Promote all areas associated with the Fitness Program. Participate as an active member on the CSU Well-being committee and co-chair the CSU student well-being committee.; Personnel (20%) - Create, approve, edit schedules for group fitness instructors and personal trainers. Post positions, interview, hire and train student assistants. Evaluate student assistants on work performance.; Facility Maintenance (15%) - Report, find, follow up and submit equests for items that are broken. All other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: Master Degree from an accredited institution.; Experience in Management, exercise science, etc.; Current CPR , FA and AED certification or ability to obtain in 30 days.; Current Group Fitness Certification or ability to obtain in 30 days.; Current Personal Training Certification or ability to obtain in 30 days.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications include: Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold memberships and certifications with: NIRSA, or AFAA.
Proposed Salary
The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $40,253 - 43,784 and includes full benefits.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities include: Ability to conduct Fitness Assessment.; Ability to plan, schedule, and facilitate programs.; Advance understanding of the Rec management software system Innosoft Fusion, Equest, and Cougar scheduler.; Ability to create reports and assessments on all programs and services.; Knowledge of the Wellness dimensions.; Flexibility in working some evenings.; Ability to lift 20-30 lbs equipment.; Valid Georgia License.; Complete Van Training.

Conditions of Employment
