Job description

To provide a high-quality USA volleyball experience for the YMCA Club VOS participants and families while teaching the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility in the position of Head Coach (no assistant).

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CLUB VOS VOLLEYBALL HEAD COACH:

  • Attending all required staff meetings.
  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Attend required abuse risk management training.
  • Read and support the CLUB VOS parent handbook.
  • Mileage will be reimbursed at $.72.5 cents per mile.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Dress in the YMCA/Club VOS staff uniform for all tournaments.
  • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Submit monthly expense reports to Club VOS Director for tournament travel.
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Positively represent the VOS YMCA at all Club VOS tournaments, practices, meetings and try outs.
  • Arrive early for all practices and ensure the practices are set up and ready to go prior to practice start time.
  • Accurately record worked hours for try outs in the VOS YMCA payroll system before the close of the pay period.
  • Communicate any absences to the Club VOS Director and understand if missing a tournament, the stipend will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Actively lead and participate in all practices and tournaments and abide by all YMCA, USA Volleyball and AZ Region rules and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE ACLUB VOS VOLLEYBALL HEAD COACH:

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience coaching for competitive volleyball teams.
  • A passion for teaching.
  • A positive energetic attitude.

PAY STRUCTURE:

Hourly wage of $16.00 for 5-6 hours per day of try outs on specific dates to be determined. Any clinics, camps, or instruction outside of the Club VOS season will be paid an hourly rate agreed upon by the YMCA branch.

Stipend of $3,750.00 for the 2025/2026 season to be paid out monthly as follows:

December 2025 $750.00
January 2026 $750.00
February 2026 $750.00
March 2026 $750.00
April 2026 $750.00
