Job description

The Ocean Community YMCA is seeking a passionate Ballet Instructor to lead a welcoming and engaging ballet class as part of our enrichment programming. This position involves a commitment of 1-2 hours per week and is ideal for an instructor who enjoys working with learners of all ages and varying experience levels in a supportive community environment.
Location: Ocean Community YMCA- Naik Family Branch, Mystic, CT
Rate of Pay: $18.00-20.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead engaging adult ballet classes that support fitness, technique, and enjoyment of dance
  • Create a positive, inclusive environment for participants of all skill levels
  • Ensure participant safety and proper technique during instruction
  • Communicate effectively with branch staff regarding class needs and participant engagement

Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching ballet with adult and youth participants
  • Strong knowledge of ballet fundamentals and technique
  • Ability to adapt instruction for varied skill levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification required (YMCA willing to train)
