Job description

  • Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.
  • Ensure individual needs of participants are met within program guidelines.
  • Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills in accordance with the Gateway Region YMCA policies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with many diverse people including staff, parents, volunteers and program site administration and demonstrate strong public relation skills.
  • Ensure YMCA policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintain an environment that ensures participant's safety and well-being.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Works with director to determine current needs for program.
  • Ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda.
  • Ensure ADA compliance with federal, state, local and YMCA regulations.
  • Ensure individual needs of the youth needing support are met and supported while remaining within the approved program parameters.
  • Implement reasonable accommodations to programs and activities as needed.
  • Review, understand and implement Association IEP Summary Support paperwork.
  • Develops and implements adaptive child care curriculum.
  • Provide opportunities to build self-help and independent skills
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurately prepare and provide proper records, documentation and files
  • Communicate professionally and accurately with YMCA staff, participants and families.
  • Ensure youth receiving support is fully included in all site activities, as much as is reasonable to expect, based upon level of documented ability
  • Ensure approved level of 1:1; 1:2 or 1:3 (staff/youth) support are maintained as recommended.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
