Job description

About Us

B&W Cabinets & Millwork is a 52-year-old custom cabinet manufacturing company located in North Richland Hills, TX. We are dedicated to quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and a positive, team-oriented environment.

Our core values guide everything we do: Work-Life Balance • Customer Service/Servant’s Heart • Quality • Always Improving • Do the Right Thing • Teamwork • Giving Back.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing, purchasing, and drafting departments. This role owns the full flow of a job from drawing through delivery — ensuring cabinets are drawn accurately, materials arrive on time, and finished product ships on schedule and to standard. The ideal candidate has strong leadership instincts, a background in production operations, and the ability to hold multiple departments accountable to clear performance standards while developing the people underneath them.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing

• Drive daily production output toward company targets and keep pull-style throughput flowing smoothly through every component area

• Own quality outcomes — minimize defects found at final QC and cabinets returned due to installation issues

• Keep equipment maintained, cleaned, and outfitted with sharp tooling and adequate spares

• Train, cross-train, and hold the production team accountable to safety protocols and B&W Core Values

• Maintain a clean, organized plant floor

Purchasing

• Ensure materials for every job arrive before production begins, are inspected on delivery, and are stored in clearly marked bin locations

• Keep inventory lean but sufficient, with accurate monthly counts and a functioning kanban system for stocked items

• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate favorable pricing and credit terms, and benchmark pricing quarterly

• Research new materials and hardware that could improve yield, cost, or quality

Drafting

• Ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and delivered to customers within the team's turnaround standards

• Coordinate release of purchasing preliminaries and custom items with enough lead time to keep production on schedule

• Maintain the CabinetVision catalog and drive continuous improvement in drawing efficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production leadership role (cabinetry experience not required, but a plus)

• Working knowledge of production flow, purchasing/inventory management, and drafting/CAD processes (CabinetVision experience a strong plus)

• Demonstrated ability to set standards, hold a team accountable, and drive measurable results

• Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

• Comfortable working with basic business systems (QuickBooks, spreadsheets, or similar) for tracking performance

• Strong verbal and written communication skills across the shop floor and with leadership

Work Environment & Schedule

On-site leadership role in a manufacturing-focused environment with active production, equipment, and material handling. Full-time, salaried schedule with flexibility to address production needs as they arise.

Benefits

• Health, vision, and dental insurance

• Paid time off and holidays

• Direct leadership role reporting to the owner/CEO, with real influence over how the shop runs

• Team-oriented culture grounded in strong core values
