Equipment & Yard Operations Technician
Location: Zwick Yard
Compensation: $20-$28 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Full-time preferred; part-time considered (minimum 3 days per week)
Position Overview
Zwick Yard is seeking a reliable, capable team member to support our equipment yard operations and project teams. This role combines equipment logistics, basic mechanical work, welding, and yard organization. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, organized, and committed to maintaining a clean and efficient yard while delivering excellent service to our project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Transport & Logistics
  • Assist with the delivery and pickup of equipment.
  • Safely operate truck and trailer combinations.
  • Properly secure loads on flatbed trailers.
  • Evaluate load weight, balance, and trailer handling characteristics for safe transport.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.

Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment.
  • Diagnose minor mechanical issues and resolve when possible.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of typical equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical systems commonly used on project sites.

Welding & Fabrication
  • Perform basic welding repairs in the field when required.
  • Set up and operate a field welder.
  • Assist with steel fabrication projects in the shop as needed.

Digital Operations
  • Use Zwick Yard's rental software on an iPad to track equipment and operations.
  • Achieve proficiency with:
    • Basic functions within 1 month
    • Advanced functions within 3 months
    • Assist in supporting and training project teams on software use within 3 months.
