Position Purpose: Pay range: 70K-85K

The Yard Manager is entrusted with overseeing and optimizing all yard operations to ensure seamless logistics and safety compliance while serving the needs of our business customers effectively. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating with various departments, and managing inventory control to ensure efficient material handling, accurate documentation, and orderly stocking practices, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all yard operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and compliance with company policies to maintain a secure working environment.

  • Supervise both customer interactions and company staff performance, fostering a collaborative and efficient team atmosphere to optimize yard efficiency.

  • Coordinate material reception and dispatch activities, rigorously preparing and maintaining all necessary documentation to support seamless operations.

  • Implement effective inventory control measures, proactively monitoring stock levels and placing purchase orders to ensure uninterrupted availability of yard supplies.

  • Oversee the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring their safe and efficient transfer between storage areas and delivery vehicles.

  • Maintain an organized and orderly yard space by overseeing product stocking, staging, and organizing, ensuring a clean and professional environment at all times.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising yard or warehouse operations, including stocking, shipping/receiving, and loading/unloading of trucks.

  • Proven track record in ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.

  • Experience in coordinating with supervisors for materials management and documentation.

  • Previous experience in maintaining inventory levels/executing purchase orders

  • Competent in basic computer usage and navigating the Internet for operational support.

  • Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment, including Loaders, Forklifts, and Moffett, is advantageous.

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

  • Willingness to work outdoors and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is beneficial but not mandatory.

  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background screening.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within a logistics, warehouse, or yard management setting, showcasing the ability to lead and motivate teams, enforce standards, and ensure operational efficiency.

  • A High School diploma or equivalent OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, enhancing operational efficiency and strategic leadership within the yard management role.

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in yard operations, landscaping, or equipment management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Forklift Certification – Preferred for safe and efficient operation of equipment within the yard environment.

Pay range: 70K-85K

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $48,900.00 to $62,200.00 annually. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits.
