Job Location: Cocoa, FL
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Yard Foreman with a background in the crane, rigging, and transport industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities within our yard, including equipment storage, maintenance, and inventory control. Additionally, the Yard Foreman will oversee a team of yard workers and ensure that all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities within the yard, including equipment storage, maintenance, and inventory control.
- Assign tasks to yard workers and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including tracking equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of equipment and materials for transportation, ensuring proper placement and securement.
- Coordinate with project managers, dispatchers, and other team members to prioritize yard activities and meet project deadlines.
- Conduct regular inspections of yard equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Train and mentor yard workers on proper safety procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in a supervisory role within the crane, rigging, and transport industry.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of yard operations, including equipment storage, maintenance, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with crane, rigging, and specialized transport equipment, as well as safety regulations governing their use.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required by project demands.
- Must pass fit for duty assessment, drug test, and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in crane and rigging equipment maintenance.
- Experience working with diverse clientele across various industries.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Completion of High School or secondary education.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems and components.
