Yard Clerk - 1st Shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

Your Role on Our Team:

Role is responsible for data entry and clerical activities in the department. Role is responsible for proper record keeping off all incoming/outgoing yard traffic.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

Checking trucks/trailers in and out of the yard which will require the employee to interact with drivers and walk outside in all weather conditions.

-Checking driver identification and is at correct location

-Verifying driver had correct load paperwork

-Applying and removing tags to trailers and containers

-Verifying trailers are empty

-Verifying seals on trailers/containers are intact and correct

-Utilizing Milwaukee software to check trucks in and out

-Maintain the security of the yard by keeping gates closed and verifying only authorized individuals enter the yard and monitor security cameras for the yard.

-Log vehicle traffic (other than truck/trailer) in and out of the yard and verifying ID's (contractors, Milwaukee Tool employees, vendors, visitors, etc.) and inspect vehicles for Milwaukee product.

-Report security related issues and observations.

-Report transportation related issues.

-Direct vehicle and truck traffic to keep roadways unobstructed.

-Locking/unlocking and closing/opening the guard shack and gates when shutting down and opening a yard (leadership).

-Directing emergency services when required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Requires education equivalent to four years of high school
  • Working knowledge of MS Office

Working Conditions:

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Repetitive motion
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling of tools and boxes
  • Able to work in various temperature conditions
  • Operation of motorized and manual pallet jack
  • May be in a general office environment, or working independently.
