Job description

Help bring ESPN's biggest moments to life by supporting the teams behind the scenes. The Resource Coordinator supports the day-to-day planning and scheduling functions of the Content Operations Team in a fast-paced, constantly changing live production environment. Working as part of a coordinated team, this role focuses on maintaining and adjusting personnel and facility schedules for ESPN shows and networks; communicating updates clearly and quickly to internal partners and external stakeholders; and ensuring coverage across a 24/7 operation. The Resource Coordinator also provides administrative and reporting support on planning initiatives and other assignments as directed by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update daily and monthly personnel and facility schedules for Content Operations groups, working within established guidelines and programming requirements. Respond quickly to schedule changes, staffing adjustments, and last-minute requests to ensure all shows and network functions remain fully covered in a dynamic, live production environment.
  • Monitor and implement changes issued by Programming or Production and consult with management to adjust staffing needs as necessary. Communicate staffing and Program changes to affected groups or individuals.
  • Evaluate and recommend staffing options for events and to compensate for illness, vacations or other absences.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of ESPN and ABC programming and of the specific jobs that fall within assigned scheduling responsibilities, plus fundamental knowledge of ESPN’s and ABC’s production scheduling procedures and systems.
  • May participate in special event coverage or projects as necessary. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of operations, resource planning, or scheduling experience; relevant internships, academic projects, or coursework in operations, media production, or related fields will also be considered.
  • Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and collaboratively to complete simultaneous projects.
  • Strong computer experience with a proficiency in productivity applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Solid communication, organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
  • Must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Xytech, and Smartsheets.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Education:

  • College Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Sports Management, Resource Management, Supply Chain, Project Management or related field.

The hiring range for this position in Charlotte, NC is $51,500 to $68,900 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
