Job description

Salary:

Primary Responsibilities


    • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to operate X-ray unit to provide images and complex data for determining medical treatment/diagnosis.
    • Verifies Physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
    • Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protcol (including IV placement).
    • Utilize Radiology information system to manage patient workflow and facilitate care.
    • Maintain a professional and clean environment for the X-ray and CT Departments at all times.
    • Monitor RIS for all walk-in procedures; schedule procedures; and review insurance coverage
    • before a procedure is performed.
    • Ensure customer service is provided in a timely manner.
    • Ensures all procedures in X-ray are interpreted in a timely manner.
    • Consult with supervisor or manager for problem solving and/or changes in procedures.
    • Report incidents in a timely manner not exceeding 24 hours.
    • Coordinate the daily cleaning, periodical preventive maintenance of the equipment in X-ray.
    • Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating of X-ray protocols and procedures.
    • Perform periodical evaluation of X-ray protocols and procedures, under the direction of the Radiologists, to determine quality assurance and/or additional projections requirements.
    • Serve as a mentor and resource to train less experienced technologists.
    • Maintain a safe working environment.
    • Ensure the X-ray and CT Departments complies with all State and Federal regulations, as applicable to the areas of responsibility.
    • Maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate late add-on patients.
    • Adhere to the Radiology and Clinic Policy and Procedures and the Code of Conduct.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

      BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:



      Education, Experience, and Knowledge


      1. Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
      2. Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
      3. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
      4. Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.



      Skills and Abilities

      • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
      • Must demonstrate excellent customer service and satisfaction skills.
      • Effective coordination of multiple projects.
      • Must be knowledgeable in all Radiology procedures and scheduling on Synapse RIS.
      • Uses analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem solving.
      • Must have excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and telephone etiquette.
      • Excellent computer skills PC, MS office including data entry in RIS scheduling.
      • Be able to lift up to 50 lb.
