Job description

Job Title: X-Ray Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist) to perform diagnostic imaging examinations for patients in accordance with physician orders. The technician is responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with radiation protection standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Prepare patients for radiologic examinations and explain procedures clearly
  • Position patients correctly to obtain accurate and high-quality images
  • Operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure proper radiation safety protocols for patients, self, and staff
  • Review images for quality and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers regarding imaging results
  • Follow infection control, HIPAA, and hospital safety guidelines
  • Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance checks
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certification preferred or required depending on state)
  • Active state license in Radiologic Technology (if applicable)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and imaging protocols
Preferred Skills / Experience:
  • Prior experience in hospital or outpatient imaging center preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
  • Familiarity with digital imaging systems (PACS, EMR)
Work Environment:
  • Hospital, urgent care, or outpatient imaging facility
  • May require standing for long periods and assisting patients with mobility
  • Exposure to controlled radiation environments with safety protocols in place.
