Job description

Radiology Assistant

In this role you will:

Be responsible for assisting/supporting the Radiologic Technologists in their job duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtains x-ray orders from the Radiology Front Desk.
  • Distributes orders among x-ray rooms ensuring optimal flow of patients.
  • Escorts patients to Radiology.
  • Reviews x-ray orders submitted by clinic with patient, verifying body part and laterality.
  • Accurately enters and submits the x-ray referral orders into the EMR.
  • Records exam and Tech information in daily log.
  • Escorts patients requiring assistance back to clinic.
  • Acts as a liaison between technologists and ordering Physician for x-ray order clarification.
  • Assist Radiologic Technologist with cleaning and disinfecting the x-ray room between patients and setting up for the next patient.
  • Cross trained to cover Radiology Front Desk for lunches or breaks.
  • Communicates effectively with patients/families and all Radiology Technologists.
  • Escorts Physician to CT suite for X-Ray Procedure room for guided injections as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned

About You:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years' experience in a medical environment.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal oral communication skills.
  • Strong data entry skills
