Job Description:


4LEAF, Inc. is a rapidly growing company in the construction industry, and we are currently seeking an Xactimate-Certified Damage Assessor / Residential Field Inspector to join our San Diego team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in residential property damage assessment, construction inspection, storm-related damage documentation, and estimating.


The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience using Xactimate, along with working knowledge of Matterport, DocuSketch, and iGUIDE. This position will be responsible for performing field inspections of residential properties impacted by storm-related damage, documenting property conditions, preparing accurate damage assessments, and supporting repair scopes and cost estimates.


We are looking for a motivated self-starter who can work independently in the field, communicate professionally with homeowners and clients, and produce clear, accurate, and timely inspection documentation.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform residential field inspections for storm-related property damage, including wind, hail, rain, water intrusion, and other weather-related impacts.
  • Assess damage to roofing, siding, windows, doors, interiors, exterior components, structural elements, and other residential building systems.
  • Utilize Xactimate to perform scoping analyses, prepare repair estimates, and support construction cost evaluations.
  • Develop, review, and amend scopes of work for residential repairs and reconstruction.
  • Prepare scope adjustment documentation and related supporting materials based on project or program requirements.
  • Perform final scope reconciliations to align planned work, completed work, and documented field conditions prior to file closeout.
  • Review inspection findings, photographs, measurements, notes, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Use Matterport and iGUIDE to capture property conditions, measurements, visual documentation, and floor plan information.
  • Prepare and manage documents using DocuSketch and other digital platforms.
  • Identify storm-related damage, pre-existing conditions, construction deficiencies, code-related issues, and potential repair needs.
  • Assist Project Managers, Construction Managers, and internal teams with identifying or obtaining current scopes of work for assigned files.
  • Track key scope metrics, file status, documentation needs, and outstanding items to support accurate work product and timely completion.
  • Collaborate professionally with homeowners, clients, contractors, project managers, and program staff.
  • Escalate scope, construction, permitting, documentation, or compliance-related issues as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, estimates, photos, signed documents, reports, and related project files.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, professionally, and within required timelines.
  • Follow company procedures, safety protocols, and applicable industry standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a damage assessor, property damage inspector, field adjuster, construction inspector, restoration estimator, or similar role.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Xactimate is required.
  • Experience with Matterport, DocuSign, and iGUIDE is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction, building components, repair methods, and storm-related property damage.
  • Experience inspecting residential roofing, exteriors, interiors, water intrusion, and structural damage.
  • Ability to prepare accurate scopes of work, damage assessments, estimates, and field reports.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners, clients, contractors, and all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, digital reporting tools, and mobile inspection technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to travel to residential inspection sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Xactimate certification or advanced Xactimate training.
  • Prior experience with storm response, catastrophe claims, residential insurance claims, or restoration projects.
  • Insurance adjuster license, if applicable.
  • Experience with residential restoration, mitigation, reconstruction, or general contracting.
  • Knowledge of insurance claim documentation standards and estimating best practices.
