LINCOLN COUNTY SCHOOLS

JOB DESCRIPTION

WV Impact/Numeracy Instructional Coach

A.          Responsibilities

Provide support for teachers in the implementation of evidence-based numeracy practices and provide instructional coaching, mentoring, modeling, and training to classroom teachers. 

B.          Relationship to Others

  1. Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and school principal.
  2. Work in a cooperative manner with administration and staff to provide coaching in mathematical instructional practices.

D.          Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of K-5 WVCCR Standards, Mathematical Habits of Mind, and evidence-based practices such as the CRA (Concrete-Representational-Abstract) Pathway.
  2. Master's degree preferred
  3. Coaching experience preferred
  4. Minimum of five (5) successful years of K-5 teaching experience required
  5. Fully certified K-6 Elementary Teacher at the time of application
  6. Ability to attend mandatory position training July 20-22, 2026 in Charleston
  7. Experience facilitating student centered coaching cycles
  8. Experience with school-level data collection and accountability for grant reporting
  9. Experience in supporting adult learners

E.          Functions and Duties

  1. Knowledge of Mathematical Habits of Mind, and evidence-based practices such as the CRA (Concrete-Representational-Abstract) Pathway for Numeracy Coach
  2. Maintain data collection and documentation of support of teachers.
  3. Follow duties set in consultation with WVDE.
  4. Follow WVDE monitoring protocols for initiative implementation.
  5. Facilitate meetings with teachers, principals, and Curriculum Director.
  6. Provide instructional support to teachers.
  7. Facilitate or participate in Professional Learning Communities.
  8. Support teachers in implementing evidence-based literacy practices.
  9. Model and coteach high yield strategies.
  10. Support collaborative planning with teachers.
  11. Collaborate with principals to strengthen Tier I instruction.
  12. Conduct classroom walkthroughs with constructive feedback.
  13. Provide targeted professional development (grant based or school-wide)
  14. Collaborate with other professional staff to enhance instruction.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 210 Days, This is a grant funded position for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years. 

                        EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code 18A-2-12 and Policy 5310.

                        SALARY based on experience and education level per county BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.Â
