Job description

Position Overview

Power Your Future with Qualus as a Program Manager within our Program Management organization. The Program Manager supports clients in managing and delivering large-scale programs and projects. This role involves overseeing multiple Power Generation projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining strong client relationships. The Program Manager will work closely with clients to understand their needs, manage resources, and ensure that all programs meet defined goals and objectives. responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The Program Manager is viewed as an upcoming subject matter expert in the tools and techniques associated with successfully managing client projects.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on program performance, including key metrics, timelines, and budget (P&L) adherence. Prepare regular status reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage multiple programs/projects for clients (primarily utility clients), ensuring alignment with client objectives and strategic goals.
  • Hold responsibility for review of all individual project/PO requirements for client/s. This may include any or all information: proposal, budget, contractual obligations, project schedule, project milestones, project specifications and internal/external communications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships by proactively communicating with clients to manage expectations, deliver progress updates, and address concerns.
  • Oversee the planning, resource management, and execution of programs, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Develop and track project schedules, resources, and budgets.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, both internal and external, to drive project success.
  • Oversee the team internal collaboration (SharePoint) site and monitor/grant/remove access as necessary to meet company cybersecurity policies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, proactively finding solutions to ensure project success and escalating issues to senior leadership when necessary.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, clients, sales, talent acquisition and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Responsible for managing all change orders, ensuring accurate invoicing and supporting any AR/AP issues.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes to increase efficiency, reduce risks, and enhance client satisfaction.

Supervisory and Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Regularly assess team as well as individual performance, provide regular, constructive feedback and recognize achievements.
  • Oversee performance and talent management of assigned team in coordination with HR and leadership.
  • Create a culture of collaboration through team building and appropriate delegation of tasks to team members according to their strengths and capacity.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of utility Power Generation operations, regulatory requirements and industry standards with strong understanding of utility industry trends, regulations, and challenges.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with the ability to operate intelligently under pressure and act prudently concerning the safety of others.

  • Ability to guide team members towards goals while keeping them motivated, supporting their growth and career plans through coaching and development.

  • While performing duties of this job, employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects and tools up to 100% of the time.

  • Candidate must be local to the Houston/The Woodlands area, expectations are to be in the office at least 3 days a week in The Woodlands, TX.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in program or project management. Proven track record of managing large, complex Power Generation programs and projects from initiation to completion.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Certification/Licensure: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.
