Job description

Title: Market Coach

State: Texas

Reports to: VP of Ops or COO/President

Supervises: Area Coaches (2-4)

FLSA: Exempt 

Department: Operations 

Revision/Creation Date: January 1, 2026 

Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000 

Position Mission: The Market Coach (“MC”) provides overall leadership and direct supervision over Area Coaches (“AC”), typically 2 to 5.  The MCC is responsible to deliver top quartile operating metrics and meet or exceed the annual operating plan established for 20 to 50 restaurants. The MC accomplishes these objectives by leading their ACs to build their capability and execute brand standards.   

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Focal points include daily review of area performance targets in guest service, margin improvement and team member satisfaction, maintaining company standards in food safety, product and facility specifications, allocating limited capital budgets to meet highest priority facility needs, introducing and reinforcing new company products and initiatives, and selecting, training, developing and motivating management and their teams.   
  • The MC position is a hands-on field-based position, and the MCs may directly perform hands-on operational work as necessary to train new managerial team members, respond to immediate or severe customer service needs, or otherwise role model appropriate skills and behaviors in the restaurant.  
  • The MC needs to be available to support operations leaders and respond timely as needed to account for the business operating hours. This person will also be responsible for creating and leading a company culture that is conducive to continuing the company’s mission and core values. 
  • The principal role of the MC is to support the long-term development of their ACs.  
  • Partner with the Cross Functional Teams to ensure a productive and transparent relationships are established. 

Travel: 

  • Travel potentially up to 80% 

Team Leadership & Culture Building (People) 

  • Identify and develop a bench of talented above restaurant leaders and restaurant through the execution of period bench planning process, one-on-ones, and every day coaching 
  • Promote and encourage a culture of accountability and recognition to inspire all team members to be their best selves 
  • Strong team leadership expertise with the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels of the company (restaurant team members to C-suite executives) 
  • In partnership with HR and your VP of Ops/COO, address all performance issues in a timely manner through, feedback/coaching and execution of performance management processes 
  • Lead your team through, setting clear expectations, effective communication (written and verbal), & consistent follow-up 

Ensure Guest Satisfaction (Guest) 

  • Role model Mission & Core Values at all times through a positive and enthusiastic attitude 
  • Drive a positive guest experience through the execution of all Brand Standards (CORE) 
  • Master all operating standards and systems to provide coaching excellence to ACs & RLs to ensure that each restaurant consistently delivers delight to every guest 
  • Lead product and program rollouts with ACs to ensure success 
  • Understand restaurant trade areas and competitors with the goal of being Best On Block  
  • Ensure ACs, timely address guest complaints and PRCs within 48 hours by resolving with delight 

Operational & Financial Leadership (Sales and Profits) 

  • Monitor and execute key operating and financial metrics established by the company and the restaurant Brand, ensuring that area meets standards required by the brand to guarantee company remains growth approved.   
  • Ensure teams are successfully executing the company morning success routines to ensure AC and RL continuous improvement and engagement around financial & operational excellence 
  • Analyze the financial performance of each restaurant and understand trends (daily, weekly, period, quarter, and YTD) and coach teams on outliers and successes. 
  • Drive unit-level profitability and brand standard execution, by utilizing company Scorecards to manage operations and financial metrics 
  • Visit restaurants within the area of responsibility, utilizing the Company’s established calendar and visitation process to calibrate on performance standards and to provide an objective feedback 
  • Conduct Period Business Reviews, discussing operational metrics, bench planning, and P&Ls with ACs, in order to drive sales and maximize profitability 
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of business risks in the areas of employee and consumer safety, regulatory compliance, finance, and community relations. Proactively manage and avoid risks through the establishment of company policies, practices, training, programs, and other infrastructure. 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 

  • 5+ years of field restaurant multi-unit operations experience, leading high-performing operations teams within a QSR environment 
  • Experience with direct P&L responsibility and a track record for effectively teaching and developing direct reports 
  • Ability to work the necessary hours to meet the needs of the business; including nights, weekends, and holidays and be available to his or her teams at all times 
  • This candidate will have experience in successfully operating restaurants with a track record demonstrating the ability to effectively staff, train, motivate and retain the teams they build under them  
  • Culture champion who embodies the Company Mission & Core Values   
  • Computer savvy (PC required) with ability to learn new software/programs, if needed 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, unpredictable and ambiguous environment 
  • Works well under pressure and tight timelines 
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
