Able Forces, founded by 2 veterans, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing professional, career-oriented employment exclusively to Wounded Warriors and Disabled Veterans.
The primary focus of employment for our Warriors is on Federal and Commercial contracts. Our contracts reflect a variety of professional disciplines including Military Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Military Analysts, Administrative and Program Management Support, Help Desk, Logistics, and Secure Communications in both cleared and non-cleared environments.
Able Forces employment opportunities focus exclusively on career-oriented, entry to senior level positions.

Job Description
This position is part of the Technical Writing (TW) team is responsible for creating technical documentation related to applications, procedures, etc.
Specifically, this position/team is responsible for:
  • Writing and/or providing editing support for online help and user manuals for 31 DMDC Web applications and 10 TRICARE Medical Contractor external technical specifications.
  • Supporting the Senior Management Review (SMR) reporting process by compiling, editing, and delivering the contractual deliverables as well as attending meetings and taking minutes.
  • Uploading new documents to the DEERS website, including creating a document set, loading it into control tables, promoting it to the various regions, and testing the results.
  • Assisting with Data Dictionary responsibilities, as necessary. Tasks include editing Word editions of the data dictionary, helping to resolve deployment issues, and attending meetings to discuss the new Enterprise Data Dictionary. Working with Data Model staff on Data Dictionary database changes, loading tables, and modifying deployment scripts in the Active Data Dictionary (MS Access) and Web Data Dictionary (Oracle).
  • Developing TRICARE Interface and Training presentations, including working with Business Analysts and project teams to prepare documents for training meetings and editing Technical Specifications.
  • Assisting with informal Quality Assurance testing, including working with developers and QA staff and entering issues in the JIRA issue-tracking system.
  • Performing ad hoc requests, including various types of tasks (such as writing, editing, and formatting) and various types of deliverables, such as end-user documentation, internal documents, specifications, meeting agendas and minutes, presentations, proposals, reports, e-forms, deployment packets, screenshot mock-ups (GUI recommendations), and handbooks. Attend required Corporate in-service training.

Qualifications
All applicants must be a Wounded Warrior or be a Disabled Veteran with a minimum of 30% documented disability
Minimum of Five (5) years' experience with creating and
maintaining end-user software documentation (user manuals and online help).
GPA
of 3.5 or above in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or other
related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong critical
thinking and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated analytical and quantitative
capabilities.
