SUMMARY

The Worship Associate works in partnership with the Starkville Campus Lead Worship Pastor to lead the worship and technical teams for Pinelake Starkville's campus. As a leader, this person will assist in the development, implementation, direction, and promotion of a Worship Ministry that is relevant to both the Pinelake Starkville congregation and to the wider community. The Worship Associate will serve as the primary worship leader for PL College services as well as provide leadership and oversight to worship in our NextGen environments. This person will be responsible for the spiritual health and musical development of the teams within his/her care.

SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, oversees and evaluates all components of College Worship ministry and NextGen worship.
  • Conducts regular planning meetings with peers and servant leaders.
  • As necessary, assists other pastors and local campus ministries in the successful completion of regular worship events and special events.
  • Assists with the management of the campus worship ministry budget within the parameters established by the One Church Worship team and Starkville Campus Lead Worship Pastor.
  • Establishes goals and objectives for College Worship ministry and initiates strategies to fulfill them.
  • Works closely with Starkville Campus Lead Worship Pastor, College and Student Pastors/Ministers to ensure continuity of worship service programming among areas of the ministries.
  • Plans and promotes activities to support College worship ministry.
  • In keeping with the principles taught in Ephesians 4:11-12, supervises the enlistment, education, and evaluation of all servant leaders in the College Worship Ministry, which may include vocalists, band members, and production support teams.
  • Performs administrative duties such as compiling reports, preparing expense reports and completing purchasing orders as specified by church policy.
  • Attends at least one regular weekly worship service and be present on the church campus during all other regular weekly worship services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Works with and leads servant leaders.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of experience minimum for competitive candidates. Applicable experience may substitute for portions of the educational framework.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The individual must be able to understand written or oral instructions; read, analyze, and interpret documents, instruction manuals, and policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse group of people, communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, email and in person, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.

COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The individual must have demonstrated skill in the use of Windows/MacOS to complete tasks, including word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to use the internet for information retrieval. The individual must have basic mathematical skills, knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting, and budget and expense monitoring. The individual must have the ability to read financial information and spreadsheets.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to simultaneously conceptualize and plan multiple tasks; project outcomes using different implementation strategies; and apply creative and innovative thinking to problem situations is required. The ability to work effectively and efficiently under stressful conditions to ensure deadlines are met is essential.
