Job Summary
We are looking for a Sierra Developer with strong experience in Innovative Interfaces' Sierra Integrated Library System (ILS) to design, customize, and support library workflows. The role focuses on Sierra APIs, backend integrations, SQL reporting, and system customization, working closely with library staff, vendors, and enterprise IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sierra ILS Development & Customization
  • Develop and customize solutions within Innovative Sierra ILS
  • Customize circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, and patron workflows
  • Configure Sierra parameters and system settings
  • Develop extensions using Sierra REST APIs
API & Systems Integration
  • Design and maintain integrations between Sierra and:
    • Discovery layers (Primo, EDS, WorldCat Discovery)
    • Library systems (ILL, self-check, RFID)
    • Campus systems (ERP, SSO, payment gateways)
  • Build and maintain RESTful services for data exchange
  • Support real-time and batch integrations
Database & Reporting
  • Write and optimize SQL queries against Sierra PostgreSQL databases
  • Build custom reports and dashboards
  • Support data extraction for analytics, reporting, and audits
  • Ensure database performance and data integrity
Backend Development
