Job description

Overview
World Travel Holdings is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to provide key financial and operational support for the Company's daily treasury activities. Specific areas of focus include the timely and accurate processing of credit cards, the recording and responding to credit card disputes, the reporting and tracking of the company's deposits and disbursements, and the reconciliation of deposits between the reservation system and the bank. Additionally, this person will assist in our monthly close process through the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper processing of credit cards, investigate any issues, and reconcile between the bank, our reservation system and our credit card companies daily.
  • Respond to and reconcile chargebacks, including preparation of responses, compilation of required supporting documentation, and recording of information into the reservation system.
  • Update daily bank activity files and report cash position to management daily.
  • Prepare journal entries for month end close.
  • Update account reconciliations.
  • Other projects and analysis assigned as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related major
  • Familiarity with GAAP
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with Great Plains or similar accounting program preferred
