About This Role

At World Builders Academy, we believe children are capable, curious, and powerful thinkers from the very beginning. Our classrooms are living laboratories — filled with inquiry, materials, conversation, collaboration, and wonder. We are seeking an experienced and inspired Lead Teacher to join our growing learning community and help guide our toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-K students through meaningful, project-based learning experiences.

What You'll Do

As Part Time Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for:

Classroom Leadership


  • Leading a toddler (2+), preschool, or pre-K classroom
  • Designing and facilitating project-based learning experiences
  • Creating an environment that supports curiosity, independence, and collaboration
  • Supporting children’s social-emotional development using respectful care practices

Curriculum & Instruction


  • Implementing World Builders Academy’s instructional framework
  • Designing learning experiences across science, literacy, math, art, engineering, and design
  • Facilitating long-term projects (e.g., thermodynamics, engineering, systems, nature studies, etc.)
  • Embedding ELA & math mastery goals into daily work in developmentally appropriate ways
  • Supporting children in developing World Builder dispositions: confidence, competence, curiosity, collaboration, and problem solving

Documentation & Assessment


  • Observing and documenting children’s learning through photos, notes, work samples, and reflection
  • Maintaining portfolios and assessment records aligned with state standards and school mastery frameworks
  • Communicating learning clearly to families through documentation and conferences

Family & Team Collaboration


  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Participating in planning meetings, reflection sessions, and professional development
  • Mentoring assistant teachers and supporting classroom teams

Requirements

🧰 Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in an early childhood classroom (ages 2–5)
  • Strong understanding of Reggio Emilia philosophy (experience preferred)
  • Familiar with RIE / respectful caregiving practices
  • Comfort with emergent curriculum and project-based learning
  • Ability to design engaging learning environments and provocations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Growth mindset and collaborative spirit

Nice To Haves

Preferred but not required:


  • Early Childhood Education degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with documentation and portfolio-based assessment
