Job description

About Sol:
Sol is a next-gen consulting firm that helps our clients' level up their tech, operations, and product/service offerings. We aren't just advisors we're doers. We use AI tools to accelerate workflows and deliver faster results. From discovery to full-scale program delivery, we take our clients from vision to decision and from doing to done.
The Role:
As a Solution Delivery Director, you are the engine leading client delivery at Sol, owning the end-to-end execution of complex engagements and ensuring every project lands with precision, speed, and measurable impact. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in the work itself: translating client needs into structured delivery, steering cross-functional teams through complexity, and holding the high standard for quality across every workstream.
You are accountable for the full delivery lifecycle, from scoping and solution design through execution, quality assurance, and client acceptance. You set the rhythm of the engagement, manage risks before they become issues, and ensure Sol's work consistently exceeds client expectations. Delivery excellence is not just a standard here; it is the reputation you build and expect on every project.
Lead, manage, and develop a team of consultants and delivery professionals, including formal direct reports. Set clear role expectations, provide regular coaching and mentorship, guide career development, support performance reviews and development plans, and model the consulting behaviors expected at Sol. Build a team culture grounded in accountability, rigor, continuous improvement, and client-first delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery across complex, multi-workstream client engagements - from initial scoping and solution design through execution, go-live, and post-delivery review. Ensure every engagement closes on time, on budget, and with outcomes the client can point to.
  • Serve as the senior client-facing lead on active engagements - running executive steering committees, managing escalations, and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (CIOs, COOs, CTOs) throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Translate complex client business challenges into clear, structured delivery plans. Define program architectures, workstream ownership, KPIs, and success criteria from day one, giving every engagement a strong foundation and a measurable definition of completion.
  • Lead and develop cross-functional delivery teams - setting clear role expectations, coaching consultants on deliverables definition and execution, client communication, and completing formal performance and development processes. Build a team culture grounded in accountability, rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers - anticipating issues before they surface and driving rapid resolution when they do. Maintain clear, consistent status reporting for both internal leadership and client stakeholders so there are never surprises on either side.
  • Embed AI tools and accelerators into delivery workflows to increase team throughput, reduce time-to-value, and elevate the quality and consistency of client outputs. Champion Sol's "high-impact, low-overhead" delivery philosophy across every engagement you lead.

Qualifications:
  • 10-15+ years of experience in consulting or professional services, with a strong focus on client-facing delivery: technology transformation, systems implementation, operations improvement, or digital product execution.
  • 5 + years in a delivery leadership role at a management consulting or professional services firm, with direct accountability for project outcomes, client satisfaction, and team performance.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-workstream engagements on time and on budget with concrete examples of navigating ambiguity, managing scope, and maintaining client confidence through challenging moments.
  • A true "doer" mindset, you are as comfortable in the weeds of a delivery problem as you are presenting to a C-suite.
  • Strong program and project management fundamentals, you bring structure and rigor to delivery without bureaucracy, and you know how to right-size processes to the size and complexity of the engagement.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience, with a track record of building high-performing delivery teams, driving individual development, and completing formal performance processes.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex delivery situations technical, operational, or organizational-into clear, confident narratives for both executive stakeholders and working teams. You communicate with precision and can navigate pressure situations.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience in one or more of Sol's practices areas/sectors: AI Acceleration, Advertising Technology (AdTech), Workforce & Operations Systems, Media & Broadcasting or State/Local Government & Education.

Why Join Sol?
โ€ข High-Impact Work: Directly impact Fortune 500 companies and government entities.
โ€ข Innovation: Utilize cutting-edge AI to focus entirely on driving results.
โ€ข Culture: A team of self-reliant professionals who value execution over optics.
Compensation:
Base Salary $200-250K per year. In this role, you will participate in an annual discretionary bonus plan, aligned to company performance and individual performance. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
