The Opportunity

As a Sales Account Coordinator supporting our Worksite Voluntary Benefits business, you'll play an important role in helping employers offer benefits that support employees and their families through life's unexpected challenges.
Worksite Voluntary Benefits are insurance products offered through employers that can help employees protect their income, finances, and loved ones. Through partnerships with benefit brokers, consultants, and advisors, MassMutual provides solutions that help employees prepare for the future and navigate important life events with greater confidence.
As a Sales Account Coordinator, you'll work alongside experienced sales professionals to support business growth, strengthen client relationships, and help bring these meaningful solutions to employers across the country. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is intellectually curious, accountable and thrives in a fast-paced team oriented environment where being detailed oriented and taking ownership is critical.
The Impact
In this role you will provide pre-sale technical product support to clients (e.g. Benefit Brokers, Benefit Consultants, Agents and advisors) including information on product benefits, MassMutual processes, procedures and product positioning.
You'll contribute directly to business growth by helping advisors and brokers understand product features, competitive positioning, and sales strategies that differentiate MassMutual in the marketplace.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as a key partner to wholesalers, helping execute territory strategies and drive business growth across the Worksite Voluntary Benefits market.

  • Build and maintain relationships with benefit brokers, consultants, agents, and advisors, providing responsive and solutions-oriented support.

  • Deliver pre-sale product expertise, and sales support that helps clients confidently position MassMutual solutions.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and ensure timely delivery of quotes and sold case paperwork packages.

  • Support the development of business plans and targeted sales initiatives designed to maximize territory opportunities.

  • Track and advance sales opportunities by following up on pending cases, outstanding requirements, and not-in-good-order submissions.

  • Leverage Salesforce and other technology platforms to manage activity, maintain data integrity, and support business decisions.

  • Keep producers informed of product enhancements, industry updates, and key business communications.

The Minimum Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in sales support, account management, customer service, business development support, operations, financial services, insurance, employee benefits

  • 1+ year experience and strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of products.

The Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years' sales or sales support experience in the financial services or insurance industry

  • 2+ years' experience with group and worksite insurance products, practices, trends and information affecting the business and organization

  • Presentation skills - effectively conveys information in a clear and professional manner to internal and/or external individuals/groups

  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with others to reach mutually beneficial solutions with both internal and external individual/groups; settles differences equitability

  • Experience working with Benefits Brokers/Consultants

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to potentially support the west coast

Salary Range
  • 65k - 70K base range plus sales-based incentive opportunity resulting in a total target compensation package of 92-97K
