Job Summary
Tetra Pak Inc. is looking for a Workshop Lead (Belts) As a Workshop Lead you will engage in welding and installation of stainless steel equipment for various customers while leading a team.

This position will be based in our Winsted, MN location.
What you will do
  • Engage in production activities including but not limited to the following: welding, polishing, fabrication, and problem solving
  • Deploy Autonomous Team activities to reduce risk, improve quality, and improve performance, by participating in improvement activities and applying techniques to the shop
  • Lead Safety initiatives to mitigate risks during operations
  • Communicate issues, give instrustructionsm and collaborate with other teams. Providing solutions and opportunities of improvement
  • Lead a team of fabricators, welders, and metal finishers
  • Work to ensure that the group follows developed routines and working methods (safety, quality, fabrication techniques, etc)
  • Lead and contribute to daily work plans for assigned teams
  • Contribute to work forecasting, including material and labor needs
  • Provide support for work requests, resolving issues with prints and/or devices
  • Manage material flow through the workshop as it relates to product responsibility
  • Coordinate with production managers, engineers, and other departments
  • Document processes, maintain production records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Determine appropriate tool and supply needs to allow proper manufacturing techniques
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Perform occasional field work to modify existing industrial machinery
  • Lead and contribute to WCM, LEAN and 5S activities

We believe you have
  • 7-10 years of experience in welding
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Able to fabricate, weld, and polish stainless steel
  • Familiarity with FDA, USDA, and 3-A sanitary standards for equipment design and fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication schematics
  • Experience with quality control procedures for food-grade stainless steel fabrication
  • Ability to handle mutliple tasks during a given work week and consistently deliver to a deadline
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Maintain a safe working environment around yourself and others
  • Experience leading teams and/or small groups
  • Able to travel up to 10% of the time

Pay Equity
Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include overtime, annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.
  • Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $70,000-$90,000
  • Short-term incentive/bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS
