Job description

Ashtead Technology is looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment to lead our workshop team in Houma. This role is critical to keeping operations running efficiently, safely, and profitably. What you'll be doing:
  • Leading the day-to-day workshop and warehouse operations, ensuring client orders are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Prioritising workshop resources and schedules to meet changing business and operational demands.
  • Driving continuous improvement across the workshop by improving efficiency, reducing backlogs, and implementing lean/5S practices.
  • Managing, coaching, and supporting workshop personnel to ensure strong performance, engagement, and development.
  • Working closely with sales and operational teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and strengthen client relationships.
  • Overseeing the effective turnaround and readiness of rental assets across the region and support international operational priorities when required.
  • Monitoring operational costs, KPI performance, and overall workshop productivity while identifying opportunities for improvement.

What you'll bring:
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a workshop environment within the subsea, offshore, ROV, or similar technical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic ROV tooling and offshore IRM operations.
  • A confident leadership style with the ability to motivate teams, manage priorities, and make decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Experience driving operational improvements, efficiency initiatives, and lean/5S processes.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational delivery, client expectations, and business performance.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a workshop environment within the subsea, offshore, ROV, or similar technical industry.
