Job description

About Base
Base is America's next-generation power company. We're rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization-electricity-by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today's fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the Role
We are seeking a Workplace Coordinator to own the operations of the office environment at Base Factory 1 (BF1) which is our manufacturing and distribution facility in Austin. This role will be responsible for coordinating seating areas, training and conference rooms, and office spaces, keeping supplies stocked, ordering and tracking the office inventory, coordinating with vendors and other facilities staff, and other duties as required to maintain an excellent office environment at the site.
What You'll Do
  • Maintain the physical environment of the office areas, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate with other facilities staff.
  • Coordinate desk and room assignments, manage space utilization, and keep the floor plan data current.
  • Order and restock office and kitchen supplies on a daily basis, managing budget and inventory
  • Serve as primary point of contact for BF1 workplace tickets, prioritizing and resolving issues quickly
  • Partner with IT and HR on onboarding setup and seating logistics for new hires
  • Track open items and maintain documentation for facilities processes, vendor contacts, and recurring tasks - create the BF1 workplace SOP.
  • Identify issues and friction at BF1 and proactively propose and implement solutions

What You'll Bring
  • 1-5 years experience in an office or workplace operations role
  • Strong organizational skills - you track details, follow through, and don't let things slip
  • Comfortable in a fast paced environment and with multitasking
  • Can work independently without detailed direction - you are good at figuring things out
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Google Workspace, Excel, Jira and other productivity tools
  • Experience in a manufacturing, field operations, or industrial environment strongly preferred

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
  • Everyone's an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we're creating. We work in-person. It's not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
Do the best work of your life at Base.
