Job Description:

The Senior Accountant III, Financial Reporting is responsible for supporting the preparation, review, and delivery of financial reporting activities for Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming. This role plays a key part in the preparation of annual and interim financial statements, audit support, financial reporting packages, accounting analyses, and reporting process improvements.

The Senior Accountant III works closely with accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, legal, and operational teams to ensure financial reporting deliverables are accurate, complete, and timely. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, advanced financial statement preparation experience, proficiency in Workiva, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-entity, and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, external audit support, and disclosure preparation, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the review of annual and interim financial statements and related disclosures for multiple legal entities across Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages, supporting schedules, account analyses, and reporting deliverables in accordance with established reporting timelines.
  • Maintain and update financial statements, disclosures, reporting packages, and supporting documentation within Workiva.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quarterly close checklists, reporting schedules, disclosure controls, and reporting calendars.
  • Prepare financial statement tie-outs, disclosure checklists, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting deliverables.
  • Assist with the coordination of external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor requests, and supporting audit inquiries.
  • Perform quarterly and annual financial statement fluctuation analyses and provide explanations for significant variances.
  • Research and document accounting and reporting issues under U.S. GAAP, GASB, and other applicable accounting frameworks, as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining accounting policies, reporting procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Support internal controls over financial reporting, including preparation of control documentation and retention of supporting evidence.
  • Collaborate with accounting, consolidation, FP&A, tax, treasury, legal, and operational departments to gather information necessary for reporting and audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate manual activities, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting workflows.
  • Participate in special projects, system implementations, acquisitions, debt transactions, and other finance and accounting initiatives, as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, ownership, accountability, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA certification, or active progress toward CPA certification, strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience required, including public accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, or a combination thereof.
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four or national accounting firm, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and external audit support required.
  • Experience with multi-entity organizations and consolidated financial reporting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP required.
  • Experience with GASB, IFRS, statutory reporting, or multinational organizations is a plus.
  • Advanced Workiva experience required, including preparation and maintenance of financial statements, disclosures, reporting packages, linked data, and reporting workflows.
  • Experience with ERP systems, consolidation software, and financial reporting tools preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively during peak reporting periods.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
