Job Description
The MN Textbook Center is seeking twelve (12) temporary, part-time Textbook Center Assistant positions to provide assistance with ecommerce order fulfillment. Assistants may also assist with shipping and receiving of merchandise for the Textbook Center. These positions also provide assistance to Textbook Center staff with day-to-day operations during peak periods. In addition, these positions provide clerical services necessary to perform general office tasks in support of Textbook Center operations.
Salary Range
Office Specialist: $20.32 - $24.12 hourly / $42,428 - $50,363 annually.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and understand information.
  • Customer service skills in person, on the phone and online to provide effective general and specialized office support with courtesy, tact, interest in positive problem solving, empathy, and to organize ideas logically.
  • Knowledge of math skills sufficient to perform simple math functions to control the change and return of funds.
  • Knowledge of computer and technology skills sufficient to process online and point of service (POS) orders.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency, incorporate culturally responsive practices, and actively engage in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a customer service position.
  • Experience with personal computers and software.
  • Experience within the Minnesota State system
Physical Requirements
  • All assistants must have the ability to stand for up to 50% of the day (up to 80% for shipping/receiving clerks) with frequent bending, lifting, maneuvering of carts and hampers.
  • All assistants must have the ability to lift/move materials weighing 15 - 50 lbs. on a daily basis.

Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
Work Shift
Twelve (12) positions with the start dates within July or August 2026 and the end dates within September 2026. More information below:
