Job description

We are committed to providing comprehensive staffing solutions to our clients across various industries. Currently, we are searching for a Temporary Administrative Assistant for our esteemed client.
The Administrative Assistant plays a pivotal role in facilitating burial and committal services while providing administrative support. This position primarily involves coordinating funeral services, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining the highest standards of respect and honor for the deceased and their families. The role requires a blend of administrative proficiency, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage various tasks efficiently.
** This is a full-time 40-hour-a-week position, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm**
**This position is 100% ON-SITE**
Responsibilities:
  1. Burial and Committal Services Coordination:
    • Coordinate funeral services for the deceased, including timely reporting of military honor guard teams and clergy.
    • Greet funeral processions and manage traffic to the cemetery, organizing parking for hearse, funeral cars, and guests.
    • Assist in seating guests during services and patrol cemetery roadways to control noise and interference.
    • Ensure continued accountability of casketed and cremated remains, including signing and tagging prior to final disposition.
    • Assist visitors and family members in locating gravesites and provide information on veteran burial benefits.
  2. Administrative Duties:
    • Support the Cemetery Administrative Supervisor in daily operations and functions.
    • Notify the Administrative Supervisor of any problems or issues as they arise.
    • Keep funeral directors and families informed of cemetery operating procedures, changes, and revisions.
    • Maintain general office procedures and strong customer service skills.
    • Utilize computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, for administrative tasks.
    • Practice all required OSHA safety measures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Ensure adherence to cemetery operating procedures and regulations.
    • Inspect and restock the committal shelter and restrooms between and after each service for toiletries.
    • Adapt to varying situations and weather conditions, working outdoors in all types of weather.
    • Possess the physical ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and run as necessary to meet the demands of the position.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in funeral services is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a cemetery or funeral home setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and general office procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.
