We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant who combines strong business acumen with proven consulting expertise. This independent contractor opportunity is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who values flexibility, enjoys working directly with business leaders, and wants to grow alongside a collaborative and entrepreneurial consulting practice.

Position Summary

The HR Consultant delivers strategic and operational Human Resources consulting services to clients across a variety of industries. This role partners with business leaders to address workforce challenges, develop organizational capability, and implement people-focused solutions that support business objectives.

Consultants may serve as the primary HR resource for clients, including providing fully outsourced HR support, or lead and support project-based engagements focused on talent, leadership, culture, and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Client Consulting & Delivery

  • Deliver HR consulting services in accordance with client engagement agreements, consistently exceeding client expectations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, and leadership teams.
  • Provide outsourced HR support for clients requiring comprehensive HR management services.
  • Assess HR programs, policies, practices, and processes and recommend improvements aligned with business goals.
  • Design and implement talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning strategies.
  • Develop leadership capabilities through coaching, training, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Create and implement employee engagement, retention, and culture-building solutions.
  • Design performance development and feedback processes that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR operations through process improvements, technology solutions, and strategic workforce planning.

Business Development & Practice Growth

  • Participate in client prospect meetings and business development activities.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, statements of work, and consulting engagements.
  • Build and maintain professional networks that generate new business opportunities.
  • Represent GCHR/DAS through community involvement, speaking engagements, networking events, and social media presence.
  • Support the growth of both personal consulting opportunities and the broader GCHR/DAS practice.

Professional Excellence

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and company information.
  • Stay current on HR trends, employment practices, and regulatory developments.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and industry education.
  • Contribute to client events, workshops, and other business development initiatives.

Work Environment & Travel

This is an independent contractor (1099) position. Work is performed remotely, at client locations, and occasionally at other business venues as needed.

Work schedules generally align with client business hours, though occasional evening or weekend commitments may be required. Regular travel within the Greater New Orleans area is expected.
