Job Description:

As a Senior Project Development Engineer, you will drive operational and energy efficiency improvements for clients, specializing in HVAC/BMS upgrades. Your role spans site assessment, cost-benefit analysis, modeling, and compliance, managing technical aspects from concept to implementation. You'll collaborate closely with Sales Managers, Area Managers, and Sellers to support sales and ensure successful project execution, aligning with strategic growth objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sale technical and engineering support for complex retrofit solutions.
  • Conduct detailed site assessments, analyze energy bills, perform load calculations, and identify savings opportunities.
  • Develop HVAC systems and solutions.
  • Lead project scope and concept development, including energy and engineering analysis.
  • Estimate lifecycle cost, customer ROI and expand retrofit project scope.
  • Conduct site visits, energy assessments, calculations, and utility rebate discussions.
  • Support Account Managers in establishing project installation budgets.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, contractors, and clients to deliver design-build projects on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' experience in HVAC contracting and/or HVAC design engineering.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, controls).
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with cost and savings studies, energy rebate programs, utility tariffs, and bill analysis.
  • Ability to assess and recommend improvements to mechanical and building systems.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and practices; able to direct subcontractors.
  • Team-oriented, dynamic, and self-motivated; able to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sales skills, goal-oriented, with strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Understanding customer decision-making processes.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or Visio and computerized energy simulation tools is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours, including travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Knowledge of building automation, sequence of operations, and energy conservation strategies.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with contractors and vendors.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

Thisposition is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
