Job description

Human Resources Representative Multi-site

 

Position Summary

The Human Resources Representative provides comprehensive HR and administrative support for three manufacturing facilities located in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This role is responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, with a primary focus on recruiting, onboarding, employee records administration, leave management, training support, and compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The position partners closely with plant leadership to support a positive employee experience and ensure efficient HR operations.

This position supports facilities in Minneapolis, MN, Golden Valley, MN and Marshfield, WI and is expected to spend approximately 50% of the time onsite at the manufacturing locations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Manage the recruiting process for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and workforce development programs to support recruiting initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Assist with employee requisitions, job descriptions, and hiring documentation.

HR Administration and Employee Support

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, performance reviews, personnel changes, and leaves of absence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment regulations including completion and maintenance of I-9 employment eligibility verification.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.

Leave and Attendance Management

  • Serve as the facility's primary FMLA administrator and liaison with third-party leave and disability vendors.
  • Process and track FMLA, short-term disability, and other leave-related documentation.
  • Monitor attendance programs and maintain attendance records.
  • Respond to and manage unemployment claims.

Training and Employee Retention

  • Support hourly employee training initiatives and maintain training records.
  • Monitor turnover trends and collaborate with leadership to implement retention strategies.
  • Assist with employee engagement and workforce development efforts.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Support PCA's Commitment to Service by delivering responsive, customer-focused HR support and identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
  • Lead special HR projects related to recruitment, retention, engagement, policy development and workforce planning.

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • One to two years of Human Resources experience, preferably in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, or HR administration.
  • Manufacturing and/or union environment experience preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 

Other Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between the Minneapolis, MN, Golden Valley, MN and Marshfield, WI facilities.
  • Ability to work onsite in manufacturing environments approximately 80% of the time.
