Normally 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday; Work other hours and weekends as required


Job Purpose

The Warehouse Assistant Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in the efficient and effective delivery of warehouse services at the MGM facility. This role assists with planning, organizing, and supervising warehouse operations while ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity. The Warehouse Assistant Manager acts as the designated back-up to the Warehouse Manager, jointly leading warehouse supervisors and all forklift drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in directing the warehouse workforce and enforcing safety and company policies daily.
  • Support the timely supply of raw and packaging material to production following the production schedule.
  • Oversee put-away of finished goods from production to warehouse.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of domestic and international documentation.
  • Coordinate receiving and data entry accuracy.
  • Support shipping coordination, ensuring orders are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
  • Help manage inventory movements in the system and support cycle counts.
  • Maintain proper use and service of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, loading docks, racking, etc.).

BRC / Safety

  • Assist in creating and maintaining written procedures as required by ISO and FSSC standards.
  • Support enforcement of GMPs and safe working conditions across the warehouse.
  • Report incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Ensure proper arrangement of pallets and materials to reduce safety risks.
  • Participate in action plans to improve BRC, OSHAS, and GMPs, supporting successful audits.

Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, train, and provide feedback to warehouse employees as delegated by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Assist with workforce scheduling and task assignments.
  • Act as Warehouse Manager when delegated or during absences, making operational and personnel decisions.

Qualifications

  • Business –Knowledgeable of Viscofan operations that apply to warehousing.
  • Functional –Require practical understanding of all warehouse practices
  • Knowledge and experience –Have 3+ years’ experience in Warehouse field as Manager, Coordinator or Supervisor.
  • Educational training required –Have a BA in Business Management. Associates Degree is preferred but not required.
  • Required Competencies (select 6 max) (Leadership/Flexibility/Teamwork/Commitment to organizational values/Innovation/Customer orientation/resource management and planning) – Must be team player, self-directed, must know the organizational values and objectives and be able to communicate to the employees

  • TEMPERATURE: Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures typical of a warehouse.

Physical Requirements

What physical exertion is required?

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs. Standing long periods of time. Be aware of your surroundings, heavy equipment traveling through warehouse. Drive equipment when needed.
  • Need to be up to date with the latest innovations in the field.
