Job description

Summary of Duties:
The Trade & Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering workforce development initiatives that support recruitment, training, retention, and advancement of employees throughout the organization. This role partners closely with the Directors of Human Resources and Safety to include Project/Service management and field leadership to create career pathways that strengthen the company's skilled workforce while ensuring employees receive education, licenses, certifications, trainings, and development opportunities necessary for long-term success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide professional development support for Premier Service Company, Inc., Jackson Security Services, Buford Locksmith, Skilled Trades of West Alabama, and Skilled Trades Placement Services.

Workforce Development
  • Partner with management to identify employee development opportunities and create yearly goals.
  • Develop Professional Development Plans for all employees and follow through with goal setting progression.
  • Coordinate apprenticeship program enrollments, training and license testing.
  • Track Apprenticeship Program attendance and Jumpstart Graduates at Skilled Trades of West Alabama.
  • Monitor and update employee progress through training and development milestones and ensure personnel records are always up to date in HRIS (BambooHR).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

Training & Employee Development
  • Coordinate industry by trade training, license testing and certifications, track attendance and maintain employee files upon completion.
  • Manage all Commercial Drivers License (CDL) files and coordinate Medical Exam review for renewals.
  • Coordinate organizational internal and external training event expenses to include traveling, lodging, registration and reimbursements.
  • Track promotions, certifications, and employee
  • Maintain training budget by department
  • Generate monthly scorecards measuring training participation, certifications, employee retention and career advancements.
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to employee development.
  • Initiate compensation request for employee pays increases.

Collaboration
  • Work closely with Human Resources, Safety, Operations, and executive leadership to identify organizational training needs.
  • Support company initiatives focused on employee engagement and retention.
  • Assist with Special HR projects

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in workforce development, HR, talent acquisition, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits, class codes, and pay structures within the skilled trades industry.
  • Proficiency in using online recruitment tools, social media, and marketing strategies for hiring.
  • Experience managing workforce training programs in collaboration with educational institutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organization skills.
  • Ability to analyze labor trends and adjust recruitment strategies accordingly.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • SHRM or PHR Certification is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License to include active liability insurance.
  • Successful completion of required criminal record and motor vehicle record background checks.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
