Pay: $95,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Job Description

  • Handle a wide range of general liability defense and workers' compensation matters.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and draft well-reasoned pleadings, motions, discovery responses, reports, and other litigation documents.
  • Answer written discovery and manage discovery deadlines.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Participate in arbitrations, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
  • Manage deadlines, case strategy, and client expectations in an organized and professional manner.
  • Travel as needed for court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and other litigation events.
  • Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff in a hybrid office environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of litigation experience required.
  • General liability defense litigation and/or workers' compensation experience preferred.
  • Active Delaware bar license in good standing required.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school required.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in liability defense.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, communicate with clients, and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Deposition, arbitration, trial, or court appearance experience is a plus.
