Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to advocate for clients navigating workplace injury claims, ensuring they receive fair compensation and justice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in workers' compensation law, along with comprehensive experience in litigation, legal research, negotiation, and client communication. Your expertise will help shape positive outcomes for injured workers while upholding the highest standards of legal advocacy and procedural law knowledge.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution, including hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and stay current on relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Prepare for court depositions, trial proceedings, and settlement negotiations to effectively advocate for clients’ rights.
  • Review medical records, employment records, and other evidence to build strong cases based on personal injury law principles.
  • Communicate clearly with clients to explain legal options, procedural steps, and case developments throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases involving general & commercial litigation, employment law, or statutory legal research as needed.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in workers' compensation law with a solid understanding of procedural law knowledge and personal injury case experience.
  • Strong skills in legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis; familiarity with legal case management systems preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities coupled with effective legal advocacy skills during court depositions and trial preparation.
