What You Will Be Doing

Coordinate filing, management and record retention of workers’ compensation claims for the Agency. Communicate with insurance carriers, department management and team members as appropriate and necessary. Assist with tasks necessary to ensure CARF, OSHA, ISO compliance. Assist with support and development of all departmental safety programs.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Review Accident Reporting dashboard daily and file claims as needed.
  • Point of contact for team members, leadership, insurance adjustors, doctor’s offices, and legal counsel.
  • Evaluates accidents reports, ensuring timely processing of medical bills and TTD.  Reviews medical reports, witness statements and other documentation.  Compiles facts regarding accident reports and filed cases.
  • Verifies facts of accidents with team members, witnesses, and supervisors.
  • Identifies suspicious claims and notifies the appropriate parties (adjustor/attorney/Safety Director) so appropriate actions may be taken.
  • Work with leadership regarding team member’s work status and restrictions.
  • Maintain current OSHA 300 log per OSHA standards; generate annual OSHA 300A for the Agency.
  • Verify and submit workers’ compensation related invoices for payment.
  • Establishes and maintains copies of medical paperwork, legal, insurance and other relevant documents in electronic files.
  • Maintains and updates electronic dairies on team member’s injury status.
  • Provide necessary documents to legal counsel as requested, including but not limited to the panel of authorized physicians, wage statements and personnel files.
  • Monitor all open claims, receive daily calls and emails and act upon or forward to the appropriate person. 
  • Documents telephone conversations, witness statements, medical reports, and accident investigation results.
  • Partner with Safety Director to identify light duty assignments.
  • Take appropriate action on requests, forward requests to Safety Director as necessary.
  • Gather information and identify solutions to assist in resolving workers’ compensation concerns.
  • Attend seminars, classes, and other educational opportunities to keep abreast of the current Workers’ Compensation procedures and rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred or a minimum of six (6) years of equivalent workers’ compensation experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and CARF.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be flexible, organized, and able to complete tasks without supervision.
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  •  Must have good driving record that meets Agency standards.
