Job description

Step into a dynamic school-based setting near Fairport, NY, where your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist will have a direct and lasting impact on students' communication skills and educational success. This contract position is available full-time (preferred) or part-time, with assignment continuity through June 25, 2026. You'll provide a blend of direct therapy and consultation services, collaborating in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Valid NYS Speech-Language Pathologist license and eligibility for NYS TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities) certification if required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Experience with school-aged children and/or preschoolers in educational settings
  • Familiarity with IDEA and NYS Special Education regulations
  • Ability to administer, interpret, and report on formal and informal assessments
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining compliant documentation and participating in IEP/CPSE/CSE processes
  • Comfortable working both independently and as a collaborative team member
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct screening, evaluation, and case history reviews for students with suspected communication needs
  • Interpret assessment data and observe students to inform service decisions
  • Actively participate in CSE/CPSE meetings, contributing expertise for eligibility and goal-setting
  • Develop, implement, and revise IEPs; deliver direct therapy (individual and small group), consultation, and classroom-based interventions
  • Adapt therapy materials and strategies, including AAC, as needed to foster skill generalization
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and other service providers; guide staff in communication strategies
  • Maintain timely, thorough, and compliant documentation and progress reports
  • Stay current through continuing professional development, per NYS requirements
