Job Summary

As a Workday FINS Engineer reporting to the Director of Business Applications, you'll spearhead the design and execution of Workday features in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration with business processes. Working in an agile environment, you'll run scrum operating on 2 week sprints to deliver incremental results to your customers. You'll serve as the go-to expert for internal stakeholders, addressing system challenges, changes, and process issues. By analyzing financial reports, processes, and interfaces, you'll uphold data integrity across systems. Your role extends to identifying optimization opportunities, prioritizing projects, and implementing enhancements in collaboration with Finance and Accounting leads. Taking charge of change management for key Workday domains, you'll ensure smooth coordination with other analysts, covering critical projects when necessary. As a Named Support Contact with Workday, you'll escalate issues and lead security audits while driving user satisfaction.

Job Duties

  • Run scrum rituals including sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint review, and retrospectives with your peers and stakeholders.

  • Lead the design and implementation of Workday features by collaborating with cross-functional teams and gathering requirements.

  • Serve as the primary system expert, consulting with internal stakeholders to address system challenges, changes, and process issues.

  • Analyze Workday Financial reports, processes, applications, and interfaces to ensure data integrity across systems.

  • Identify optimization opportunities, prioritize projects, and implement enhancements in collaboration with functional leads.

  • Own change management for key Workday domains, coordinating changes with other analysts and ensuring smooth execution.

  • Provide coverage and assistance on larger or high-priority projects and tasks as needed.

  • Escalate issues as a Named Support Contact with Workday and lead security audits for permissions.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Procurement to design and deliver outstanding experiences for Workday users.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Proficiency in Workday systems with a keen interest in ongoing learning.

  • Familiarity with Scrum, its rituals, and operating cadences.

  • 10+ years' experience implementing and maintaining Workday Financial Management modules, including Core Accounting, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Customer Accounts & Billing, Revenue, and/or Payroll.

  • Thorough comprehension of Financial and Accounting business principles and processes.

  • Preferred experience with Workday Human Capital Management (HCM).

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Advanced Job Requirement (preferred but not required)

  • Workday certification(s) preferred.

  • Expertise in configuring and optimizing Workday Financial Management modules to meet complex business needs.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing large-scale Workday implementations or upgrades.

  • In-depth knowledge of Workday integration tools and techniques for seamless data exchange with external systems.

  • Experience in developing custom reports and analytics within Workday Financials to provide actionable insights.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently, including debugging integrations and identifying root causes of system errors.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources effectively.

  • Familiarity with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to financial systems and data privacy.

  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior team members in Workday configuration and best practices.
