Job Description

AIR Communities is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to support and evolve our Workday Financials platform, ensuring the system effectively enables critical accounting, finance, procurement, and operational processes.

This role serves as a trusted partner to stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Operations, helping translate business needs into scalable, sustainable system solutions. The successful candidate will combine deep Workday Financials expertise with strong business acumen, process thinking, and operational ownership to drive continuous improvement, strengthen governance, and enhance the user experience.

This is a highly visible, functional role focused on system configuration, business process optimization, reporting, governance, documentation, and solution delivery. It is not a development role and does not include integration ownership or security administration responsibilities.

Qualifications

Workday Financials Administration & Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Workday Financials users, providing day-to-day support for system, process, configuration, and reporting issues.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday Financials functionality, business processes, workflows, and operational settings.
  • Act as a functional subject matter expert across one or more Workday Financials areas, including:
    • Financial Data Model (FDM)
    • Company and Organizational Structures
    • Business Processes
    • Validation Rules
    • Posting Rules
    • Accounting Configuration
    • Financial Reporting
    • Customer Accounts and Billing
    • Procurement and Supplier Accounts
    • Banking and Settlement
    • Revenue Management
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions that improve reliability and performance.
  • Support Workday release management activities, including impact assessments, testing, documentation updates, and adoption of new functionality.
  • Coordinate testing efforts related to enhancements, upgrades, and configuration changes.

Business Partnership & Solution Delivery

  • Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, and operational teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions that improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on Workday Financials capabilities, best practices, and process design.
  • Assess enhancement requests by balancing business needs, system impacts, controls, reporting requirements, and long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure solutions align with organizational objectives and governance standards.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of AIR’s financial processes and how they are supported within Workday.
  • Evaluate the upstream and downstream impacts of system, process, and configuration changes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation, standardization, efficiency, and the overall user experience.
  • Support governance and change management practices that promote consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Help identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with critical financial processes and system changes.

Reporting, Analytics & Documentation

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, business processes, controls, and support procedures.
  • Develop and support operational, financial, and management reporting solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting issues, data discrepancies, and process exceptions.
  • Maintain documentation that supports knowledge transfer, cross-training, operational continuity, and audit readiness.

  • Expected pay range of $100,000 - $120,000 base salary plus 10% annual target bonus. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
