Position Summary
The Student Assistant for Campus Life works in conjunction with all Campus Life offices and is aware of all services provided by Campus Life, Campus Engagement, and Student Advocacy offices to better serve students and visitors. The Office of Campus Life is a high traffic, high volume, high call area and assistance within all departments is shared to provide a customer-friendly environment to all students and visitors to the Office of Campus Life. The Campus Life Office Assistant reports to Secretary/Office Coordinator.
This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
Essential Functions
  • Answering multi-phone line.
  • Actively participate in making rounds to ensure all tasks are sufficiently taken care of on a daily basis within the office and information desk.
  • Answering the phones, making copies, running errands, delivery and collection of mail.
  • Engage in communication and customer service dialogue with students and visitors.
  • Delivery of messages and follow up on daily outlined duties.
  • Serve as a guide to students and visitors who may need an escort to any UIW office on main campus.
  • Communication and knowledge of Campus Engagement, Residence Life, and Student Advocacy programs to students and staff.
  • Participate in projects for all Campus Life offices.
  • Actively participate in events including set-up and clean-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to be organized and finish projects or communicate progress to peers.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Organization skills to keep proper records to include tracking of any visitors to any of the Campus Life Offices.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Ability to learn specific and different policies and procedures associated with all Campus Life Departments.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program.
Required Work Experience
Experience is not required, training is available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Customer service experience in a high-volume setting.

None.
Work Hours
  • Schedule assigned will be in the time frame of Monday - Saturday 8-6.
  • Some early mornings, evenings and weekends required for specific projects during the year.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift 30 lbs.
