Job description

MissionHires is seeking an Electrical Engineer (RF Test Automation) in Rochester, NY (on-site, direct hire) to design, develop, test, and sustain automated functional test systems for DoD and international defense customers, with a strong focus on NI LabVIEW software for radio test systems. US Citizenship required. Competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software applications in NI LabVIEW for control and automation of test and measurement equipment
  • Debug, test, and sustain automated functional test systems for radio/RF applications
  • Develop radio test system solutions with a heavy emphasis on LabVIEW-based automation
  • Integrate and automate RF/baseband test equipment (e.g., spectrum/network analyzers, power meters, DMMs, oscilloscopes, audio analyzers)
  • Implement and support automated test sequences (LabVIEW and TestStand)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and defense customers to define and deliver test solutions
  • Apply basic networking (TCP/IP) principles in test system integration
  • Utilize software configuration and issue-tracking tools (e.g., GIT/SVN, JIRA) for version control and workflow
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and a minimum of 4 years; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Hands‑on NI LabVIEW and TestStand experience for automated test development
  • Experience with basic networking (TCP/IP) and radio/RF communication systems
  • Familiarity with RF and baseband test and measurement equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, power meters, DMMs, oscilloscopes, audio analyzers)
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design (OOP/OOD) preferred
  • Experience with software management tools such as SVN/GIT and JIRA preferred
